Sunday 6th December
Time: 11am until 4pm
Chapel House, Penzance
A winter feast with a difference. If you would like to learn more about fermentation in a relaxed dining environment - this event is for you.
Join us for a winter warming ferment and feast at Chapel House with Fermentary co-Founder, Rachel Booth.
We will learn how to make Newlyn Fermentary’s ‘Winter Kraut’ around the kitchen island in Chapel House. We’ll delve into. the science, history and health benefits of lacto-fermentation and then roll our sleeves up to make a kilo to take home. Rachel will be making her favourite winter sauerkraut, which was inspired by her time in Germany. It's a fermented twist on stewed red cabbage 'Rotkohl' with some fresh orange, bay and clove, and a perfect accompaniment to any roast lunch. We will start the class with an introduction to lacto-fermentation, and some tasters of all the sauerkrauts.
Attendees will then make and take home their own jar which will be ready in time for Christmas gifting or eating!
After a short break and aperitif in the living room, we will then sit down for a three course fermented festive lunch, created by the team at Chapel House with some delicious fermented highlights from the Fermentary team.
11.00 - arrival and welcome
11.15 - masterclass, introduction and make your own winter festive sauerkraut
13.30 - lunch
16.00 - finish
We can only accept cancellation with refund with a 3 week notice. We are unable to transfer tickets to another date as this is a one off special event.
